How to Commision a Portrait

  1. Select four or five of your favorite color photos (the child or children should be age 2 or older). Several are needed to choose from because the eye, hair, or skin color may not be as accurate in one photo as another. All children must be in the same photo you select. It is impossible to get the correct proportion of the children by attempting to combine two or more photos into one painting.
     
    Send your 5" x 7" color prints to:

    Please be sure include your name, address, phone, and e-mail address. All print photos not needed for reference will be returned.
     
    Upon receipt of your photos, Joyce will call and discuss the details of the portrait and its cost with you. She will then send you a Worksheet Agreement.
     
  2. To begin the work, a deposit is required. After you receive the Worksheet Agreement from Joyce, you will return to this page and click the Deposit Form link below to provide your credit card infomation and submit payment of your deposit on our secure server. The balance will be charged to your card upon completion and shipment of the portrait. Please note there is a no-return policy on custom-painted artwork.

You should expect the painting to require at least four weeks to complete after your deposit is received. Joyce will naturally make improvements in the backgrounds to enhance the painting. For example, note the left side of the portrait of the girl in the red jacket. Two cats were added, and the unattractive chair was removed. Of course, you can be assured that all portraits are hand painted, not computer generated.
